Those are principles that God gave to guide, direct and to lead your life. The Ten Commandments are ten great eternal principles that never change.
He asks that you and I walk with Him, follow Him in all that we do. He said if you would do those things, it will be well with you. The good news is that it is never too late to dream and dead dreams, can be revived.God says that if you will obey my voice and keep my commandments you will be a special treasure to me above all of the people of the earth. It’s hard to say what’s worse, killing dreams or not dreaming at all.

If you plan on staying in a bad relationship, bad work environment, a house that you can’t afford or a life that exhausts you, then you have forgotten how to dream. You have to be aware of where you are, where you want to be and why you’ve never taken the steps to get there. Like most everything, transitioning from a dream killer to a dream maker starts with awareness.

Of course, you could do and be what you want, but it is probably better to play sports, get good grades, go to a good school, get a good job, wife, house, kids, dog, 401K, WHOA! By the time you come up for air, and by the time you said WHOA, you were knee deep in debt, working extra hours to keep up, surrounded by a big house full of stuff you don’t want, not sleeping great, and all because you are living the dream. They started planting seeds about what would be best early on. The ironic part, is that while your parents were killing your dreams, they only wanted the best for you. That was the beginning of the mass murders of your dreams. Maybe it was a heavy sigh or even a quizzical, “Oh Really?”. When you expressed your dream of being an astronaut or an actress on Broadway, you may have noticed some strange looks, a raise of an eyebrow or pursed lips. They told you, that when you grew up you could do what you wanted and be the person you dreamed about. They told you you could be whatever you wanted to be. You may not have recognized that your parents, and other people that loved you, were killing your dreams, because they led you to believe that they supported your every whim. You grew up with people killing your dreams. It is not really surprising that you squash dreams on a regular basis. Instead of feeding your dreams, you shut them up with fear and dismissal. You might kill your child’s dreams, your lover’s dreams and the worst offense of all, you kill your own dreams. You may be goal oriented, very friendly and even a dreamer but chances are, despite having all of these great qualities, you are a dream killer. We need to use our speech wisely and speak from the heart that wishes to help others. Our careless, sarcastic, or angry words can deeply wound a child, a loved one or a friend. While our thoughts and actions can be damaging to others, it is our speech that all too easily commits this offense. As human beings we should avoid killing the seed of goodness in others or harm others emotionally. Killing the goodness of others- this is the most committed murder of all. This is very confusing as I don’t know who is supposed to kill the killers of killers. Qur’an 6:151 says, “and do not kill a soul that God has made sacrosanct, save lawfully.” Killing is forbidden in every religion but it is defined differently as in the Torah and bible it does not refer to animals but killing of other beings again it keeps narrowing as there are some beings that deserve to be killed and these are killers themselves. Murder is strictly forbidden in the Qur’an. We can not stop eating or drinking water, but we can use what we need but not more than that.ĭo not kill is one of the pillars of living given by Budda. To produce the food we eat and the water we drink, millions of other animals and microbiological lives are destroyed. As we walk we step on insects, trees are cut down to build a home for us. By our very existence, we are taking lives. So what does this commandment mean? By not killing we revere all life, and have compassion and respect not just for other people but also for animals all animals not only rhinos, insects, plants, and the earth which supports us. DO NOT KILL appear in the bible more than 200 times. Lets leave sibling scrabbles for another day and concentrate on the above scripture. Well Mr Dube I got news for you, by being born a lot of things died so you can live. I can see my brother Sindiso who is a vegan jumping up and down right about now saying killer killer you cow murder.
I am a thousand times guilty of breaking this commandment. This is one of the most known commandments in the bible but it is the most broken commandment ever.
